Thelma Green

Senior Program Manager
Houston

Thelma Green is a Senior Program Manager for Brighter Bites in Houston. When she was two years old, she immigrated with her family from Liberia to Sweden, where she grew up and where her family still resides. In 2004 she decided to move to Texas to attend college, graduating from Texas Southern University with a degree in sociology and a minor in psychology.

In 2014 she decided to further her passion by becoming certified as a Community Health Worker. During her certification, she received recognition for her research based on the staggering increase in the number of teen pregnancies in certain areas of Houston, and methods for prevention. As a result of her research, she found a position with the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council as an Outreach Associate and guest speaker educating young girls in underserved areas of Houston about topics such as nutrition, fitness, peer pressure, mental health, and more.

Now, as a Senior Program Manager and certified Zumba instructor with Brighter Bites in Houston, Thelma helps young children and their families blossom one bright bite at a time. Thelma lives with her husband and two children in Houston.
