Michael Sewa is a program coordinator in New York City. Michael is a creative thinker that focuses his efforts in elevating the health status of underrepresented urban communities through accessibility to quality nutrition and effective dietary interventions. His goal is to provide these underrepresented communities with locally sourced, and sustainably grown produce as a way to mitigate growing disease throughout these community members. He has created green roofs with the New York City Parks Department, worked in food equity in communities on Oahu in Hawaii as an alumni of the GROW externships, and a graduate of nutrition and dietetics from Queen’s College with experience in health and wellness, grow systems, and sustainability.
