Michael Carpenter is a senior operations coordinator for Brighter Bites in Houston. Michael began his tenure with us when he participated in the Mission Year program as an intern with Brighter Bites during the 2015-16 academic year. Originally from the eastern part of Washington State, Michael and his wife Ashley moved to Houston last year from Spokane, WA after earning their undergraduate degrees in urban and regional planning at Eastern Washington University. Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, Michael had easy access to fresh fruit at plentiful fruits stands and orchards in the area. He is excited about joining the Brighter Bites staff and helping to ensure that kids in Houston get to enjoy fresh produce just like he did back in Washington.
