Meredith Spence
Senior Director of Strategy
Brighter Bites
As Senior Director of Strategy Meredith Spence works with a wide variety of partners around the country that Brighter Bites relies on to carry out its mission. Before this role, Meredith worked in community relations and programming for the Brighter Bites Dallas team.
After graduating from Tulane University, Meredith moved to Washington, D.C., and became a special assistant to U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. Following her time on Capitol Hill, she held positions with the federal government affairs group of Microsoft Corporation, the state government relations division of The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, the public policy arm of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, and the public affairs division of a large Atlanta law and public affairs consulting firm.
Meredith decided to make a change in her career path when Brighter Bites Founder Lisa Helfman asked her to help launch the Brighter Bites program in Dallas. Meredith embraced the Brighter Bites mission to help families choose a better kind of fast food, and quickly realized that her true passion was working in the community alongside the many dedicated parent volunteers who make Brighter Bites a success.
Meredith graduated from Tulane University with a major in history and a minor in sociology. Meredith is an avid reader, an excited traveler, and an experimental cook. She also appreciates downtime with her husband and two daughters.
