Lorena Perez
Senior Program Coordinator
Lorena Perez is the Senior Program Coordinator for the Salinas Team. Lorena worked in the agriculture industry and participated in the Brighter Bites program prior to joining the Brighter Bites team. When she heard the call for onsite bagging volunteers, she stepped right in and her journey towards healthy living began… little did she know that she would one day join “the ladies in red” or “go, slow, whoa ladies” at the school.
Lorena comes to Brighter Bites with a wealth of experience -not only in the agriculture industry but managing a family restaurant and working for the WIC program for many years. You can see why Lorena is passionate about food and is excited to see the families in our community live longer healthier lives by eating fresh fruits and vegetables. She loves to cook and bake, traditional family favorites with a twist. In the evenings, you will see Lorena and her family taking long strolls through the vegetable fields that surround her home, and -yes even Kobe- her fur baby joins in the fun. Lorena is proud and overjoyed to be part of the Brighter Bites family.
