Jacqueline Tien

Program Coordinator
Brighter Bites Houston

Jacqueline Tien is a program coordinator for Brighter Bites in Houston, Texas. Jacqueline grew up in El Paso and received her undergraduate degree in health education from the University of Texas at El Paso. After graduating in 2016, Jacqueline continued to take classes in nutrition and became a certified health education specialist. She also began working for The Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit in El Paso that promotes staying active.

Jacqueline became interested in nutrition through her college courses and personal experience with food and wellness. She also developed a passion for helping underserved communities that could benefit from nutrition and health education resources. She is passionate about bringing nutrition education to families with young children and believes that exposing children to fresh produce and healthy habits at a young age significantly impacts their choices as they grow older.

Jacqueline moved to Houston in August 2017 to pursue a career in health and nutrition education. She hopes to take her experiences and education back to El Paso one day to create healthier and happier communities.

In her free time, Jacqueline enjoys playing sports, cooking delicious meals, and socializing with friends and family. She also loves exploring the outdoors, hanging out with her husband Kevin and their puppy, Lana, and traveling to El Paso as often as she can to visit her family.
