Greg McGuire was born and raised in Dallas, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Geospatial Information Science at the University of Texas at Dallas before moving to the Bay Area. After deciding to change careers, Greg moved to the San Diego area to live with his brother and nieces while working with youth.
Over the years, he has worked at Boys and Girls Clubs, schools, and volunteered with youth STEM, LGBTQ+, and environmental nonprofits. He obtained his Masters of Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the University of San Diego to create opportunities of transformational changes for youth and families.
Greg joined +BOX in 2021 after volunteering at a produce pack out. He enjoyed the camaraderie of the volunteers and staff in addition to connecting with the mission to provide access to healthy, fresh food for students and families. During his time with +BOX, Greg has taken on numerous leadership roles in the community, including as the Co-Chair of the North County Food Policy Council, Board Member of the County of San Diego’s Health and Human Services Community Action Board, and as a Board Member for Bella Mente Montessori Academy.
Greg enjoys spending time with his wife and their dog, camping, playing sports, or being creative through a(n ever increasing) number of hobbies. He also works as a professional photographer, having photographed over 150 weddings with his wife.
