Amy Priebe
Director of Strategy and Partnerships
Amy Priebe is the sourcing manager for Brighter Bites. Based in Chicago, IL, Amy works closely with produce suppliers and distributors from across the country to ensure that Brighter Bites program participants receive the most nutritious and delicious fresh food available.
Amy earned her undergraduate degree in economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Soon after, a transformative loaf of banana bread inspired her to pursue work in the world of food. Amy enrolled in the intensive L’Art de la Pâtisserie program at the French Pastry School in Chicago and spent six years baking bread, pastry, and desserts in some of the Midwest’s finest kitchens, eventually serving for two years as the head pastry chef at Sardine in Madison, WI. Amy no longer cooks professionally but has been leveraging her knowledge of food as a sales and purchasing manager for local food distributors for the past eight years, connecting customers with some of the best produce the Midwest has to offer. Most recently, she was part of the team that launched Imperfect Foods in the Midwest, where she was responsible for sourcing all of the perfectly imperfect fruits and vegetables from around the country.
Amy is passionate about food as culture, a basic human right, and an integral part of a sustainable future for humans on this planet. When she isn’t pouring over new recipes or wrangling her two young children, Amy enjoys tending to her vegetable garden, exploring the patchwork of natural areas strewn across Chicagoland and the Midwestern wilderness beyond, and simply savoring the company of friends and family.
