KayJoon Quispe

Program Coordinator
Brighter Bites NYC

KayJoon Quispe is a program coordinator for Brighter Bites in NYC. Born and bred in Queens, KayJoon is excited to be working with Brighter Bites in the community that raised her.

Prior to joining Brighter Bites, KayJoon completed a year of service with FoodCorps in Brooklyn where she focused on school health and wellness through nutrition education and garden-to-table programming.

KayJoon graduated from Hunter College where her studies focused on health and human rights. Her educational background has provided her with a deep understanding of the theoretical relationship between the two, and has allowed her to recognize the impact that access and dignity have on local communities. During college, KayJoon served as a public service fellow to the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, developing educational and public programs, specifically an urban garden-to-table curriculum, where her passion for food justice was born.

KayJoon firmly believes that good food is a right, not a privilege, and hopes to advance access to improved health and wellness for vulnerable populations through fresh, wholesome, and good food.
