Brighter Bites Heads Back to School

Brighter Bites is excited to head back to school for the 2019-2020 school year! This season the program is returning to all six of its programming cities, including Houston, Dallas, Austin, New York City, Washington, D.C., and Southwest Florida, where it will serve more than 30,000 families at 100 sites.

Brighter Bites is thrilled to double its footprint in New York City this season by adding five new schools to the lineup, allowing the program to reach over 2,000 additional families.

In addition to participating in Brighter Bites’ signature produce distribution in the afternoons, students at Brighter Bites schools across the country will receive in-class nutrition lessons from CATCH and other evidence-based, coordinated school health programs. Last year teachers in Brighter Bites schools led a combined 6,550 hours of nutrition education in their classrooms.  Given our expansion in NYC, Brighter Bites anticipates that number will grow significantly.
